Ingredients

  • 24 oz frozen or homemade meatballs
  • A Southern Soul
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup bourbon
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, adjust to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Instructions

  • Prepare the sauce: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together ketchup, honey, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, bourbon, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic until well combined.
  • Combine with meatballs: Place the frozen or homemade meatballs into the Crock Pot. Pour the prepared sauce over the meatballs, stirring gently to coat them evenly.
  • Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the meatballs are heated through and tender.
  • Serve: Once cooked, stir the meatballs gently in the sauce before serving. They can be served directly from the Crock Pot as an appetizer or over rice for a main dish.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce to the sauce mixture.
  • If using homemade meatballs, ensure they are cooked through before adding them to the Crock Pot.
  • These meatballs can also be served over mashed potatoes or cauliflower rice for a hearty meal.
