Ingredients

  • Biscuits
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter cold and cut into small pieces
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • Garlic Butter Topping
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  • Add the cheese: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Cut in the butter: Add the cold butter pieces to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the milk: Pour in the milk and stir just until combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this will result in tough biscuits.
  • Form the biscuits: Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, forming 8-10 biscuits.
  • Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  • Prepare the garlic butter topping: While the biscuits bake, melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir in the garlic powder, parsley, and salt.
  • Drizzle with garlic butter: When the biscuits come out of the oven, immediately brush them with the garlic butter topping for that extra burst of flavor.
  • Serve: Serve the biscuits warm, and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra cheesy flavor, you can sprinkle additional cheese on top of the biscuits before baking.
  • These biscuits are best served fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container for 2-3 days and reheat them in the oven.
  • You can substitute the whole milk with buttermilk for a tangier flavor.
